Volunteer State Bank is proud to sponsor the Senior Crimestoppers program in Highland Rim Terrace in Portland, TN. “This program is a way for an administrator to further enhance the lives of the residents they serve,” said Terry Rooker, president of Senior Crimestoppers. “They all work very hard to provide safe, secure, comfortable living environments and their desire to implement the program is just one more example of this. Implementing this program does not mean that the facility currently has a crime problem, but that the administrator is proactively finding a way to keep problems from occurring in the future.”

Volunteer State Bank joined the Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation (SHCPF), lending financial support to the Senior Crimestoppers program, which helps protect residents at Highland Rim Terrace in Portland.

The Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation and Volunteer State Bank held a charter presentation on April 5 at Highland Rim Terrace Nursing Home located at 100 Woodland Drive, in Portland.

This event allowed the senior residents of Highland Rim Terrace to meet local law enforcement officers, Senior Crimestopper advocates, and Volunteer State Bank representatives. Each organization shared valuable ideas and tips on how to ‘stay safe’ and protect our senior living communities from threats both physical and financial.

The Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation is a national organization that serves as a way for banks to fulfill their federally mandated Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements, by providing aid to low and moderate income individuals in their local community.

The Foundation’s mission is to provide safe and secure living environments for senior nursing home residents, many of whom are low to moderate income individuals, through the operation of the nationally-acclaimed Senior Crime Stoppers program.

“Senior Crime Stoppers is a way for an administrator to further enhance the lives of the residents they serve,” said Terry Rooker, president of Senior Crimestoppers. “They all work very hard to provide safe, secure, comfortable living environments and their desire to implement the program is just one more example of this. Implementing this program does not mean that the facility currently has a crime problem, but that the administrator is proactively finding a way to keep problems from occurring in the future.”
